It's fantastic
It's fantastic
While I will say that this was incredibly well done and that I have always loved Harry and his work, the long wait wasn't really worth the payoff for this episode. Nothing much happens except for the main characters arguing and setting up for the next episode. While I do very much look forward to the next episodes and I understand animation does take a LOT of time, I feel like this should've maybe had more to it?
Otherwise the animation is fantastic and regardless of my opinions stated above I'm happy to see something from this animator again! To be perfectly honest I had given up hope that this would get more episodes and I'm pleasantly surprised to have seen this.
love the buttons on the insect's ship
The humor is creative and the animation is as good as it gets for independent. Which is why it's so dissapointing to see it wasted on repetitive writing. We didn't need to see the bad guys talking about the distress signal and the ship's core recharging (it was pretty clear that they are not afraid of fighting anyone already), we didn't need to see the distress message (we already know what's happening on the planet), we didn't need to see Killgar's message ("maybe them can go to we" got the point across, we already saw how the gladiator fights look like in episode 2 and were reminded subtly on the tv while Killgar was eating a hotdog). All of this wouldn't bother me in a full show, but if the episodes are 6 minutes long and come out so rarely, then you better use time effectively and MOVE THINGS ALONG. This all feels less like an actual show that tells a story and more like a demo reel.
It's... good? I guess. I might not be too into this.
