I’m happy people enjoyed the episode but unfortunately I felt nothing for the father. Sure they established that he wasn’t a complete dead beat by sending money over the years but to not see his daughter for 10 years? He’s very lucky that he has an amazing daughter that’s willing to forgive him so easily. The very end of the episode was sad when they showed the flashbacks of how they met but that was it for me.

That daughter-father reunion had me in tears. Glad they met up and make up after a decade. And it shows how they still all love each other. They need to have a complete family reunion. Also glad sensei met the person who made the fan letter and saved up not once, but twice now. She grew up as beautiful as her mother and she's also a gyaru when she was young.

Just want to finish until this part. With this I'll save the remaining episodes when they're all out before watching them.

I just knew I would cry in this part, and there goes the whole episode just me crying.

I read the manga up to this many years ago, forgotten a lot of stuffs but not this exact moment and I definitely had the same feels as back then.

Okumura really stepped up as the Main Character, this is his story! The passion he has for what he love saved a man not just once but twice.

I hope Aria's parents get back together, they definitely still love each other. /cries

And lastly, it was just funny how Ririsa instantly stole the spotlight from Aria and went full otaku mode haha.

Beautiful episode. The importance of support and love even for unpopular authors or works is well shown, not to mention the complexity of the feelings of creators who do not find the desired response. And a good reminder of the importance of loving your characters and the work you put in them. Learn, Aka.

Also, given their backstory, was her mother's request a subtle hint that she still loved him?

With the cosplay pictures posted online and reaching Aria's father, most especially of Ariel's cosplay being a splitting image of his wife, the 10 years since the divorce of prioritizing work over family, he decides to take the plunge and goes there for himself, with the assistants covering for him every step of the way. Of course, all he laments are the deadlines and pressure that forces him to do what he did, but he's grateful that he at least got to see his creation live in cosplay form.

The split-second decision for Aria's sighting of her father enough for Okumura to give chase, not as his pen name but his former one to buy time for Aria to don on the Valkyrie Battle Melia cosplay, even mentioning the crap of the manga of his own that was a blimp in his traumatic history, to a loyal fan of his work amidst all of the controversy it got, it was his own living life battle that made someone's life, even if it didn't do much to win against the audience, let alone his own family whom his ex-wife and daughter are biggest fans first and foremost.

The heartfelt reunion between father and daugher donning on his greatest creation, as well as meeting the group cosplaying his manga which despite less-than-stellar sales, the motivation to keep on drawing more thanks to Okumura's second salvation, the family values of Aria's family, no matter how tumultuous it is, ends up bonding both parents and only child togeher back again.

It's a damn power episode for the feels.

I did not expect such a moving thing to come out of this anime. This is thus far the peak of this show, and it was beautiful. I love the Aria arc.

It was really moving to see Aria and her father reconcile, to see Kisaki-sensei accept that what matters is that people like your work and to not focus on the haters, and above all to see Aria's family history. How her parents met and got together was cute.

Also, side note: Mikarin and Aria are really pretty.

Good thing the group didn't give up and stayed long enough to have Aria noticed by her father.
Loveable gyaru Aria is the spitting image of her gyaru mother. Her parents' flashback reminded me of Nagatoro and Naoto. Young Aria pulling her dad out of his home studio so he could make up with her mother was sweet.
He can't be sure yet and begins to sell doubt, but Ririsa helps her change into her Melia costume, so her father can understand it is truly her, one of the few fans of his original work, and not just a cosplayer for his sensei's spin-off.
Stalling him while Aria gets ready, Okamura has his protagonist moment in telling her father not to be ashamed of the world he created.
It's such a heartfelt reunion between a father and his estranged daughter. The hairpiece she's still wearing was given to her by her mother so she'd look like Melia. Reflecting on the effects his first manga's cancellation had on his life and family, he holds off existing plans to cancel his current manga after meeting such dedicated fans like Okamura and Ririsa.
He and his wife might be ways away from getting back together but the message Aria gave is a start.
Truly an emotional episode

Okumura is one of the best protagonists this year.

Whoda thought that a comedy ecchi show about cosplaying that I started on a whim could hit me so hard in the feels. It's sappy and OTT but everything about it resonates with me and I unashamedly love it to the point where I feel compelled to write about it. Great show!

Did not think a slice-of-life'ish comedy about cosplay could hit this heavy in the emotions, but here we are...

Still cannot believe I missed out on this show when it was airing, but I don't regret watching it now.

Hard to believe there are only a few episodes left...
