It's ridiculous. Not every patriotic liberal OR conservative own a gun. Any belief otherwise is just silly.
There are many WIDELY differing views on owning handguns within the liberals. Same is true of the conservatives. I know conservatives that want gun control stepped up like crazy, and liberals who want it to go away.
